Flowing through broad valleys, deep basalt canyons, towering cottonwood galleries, and fertile farmland, the South Fork of the Snake River is an icon in its own right. The South Fork Initiative (SFI) was launched in 2018 thanks to the passion of South Fork outfitters, anglers, and citizens who shared a vision of bringing HFF’s model of science-based collaboration to the South Fork.
This self-funded initiative reflects HFF’s core work in science, monitoring, restoration, and collaboration. And as two crucial pieces of an interconnected ecosystem, the South Fork and Henry’s Fork each benefit when the other is healthy and full of cool, clean water for trout.
