Stephen Gentile

I’m Stephen Gentile and I’m excited to be the Byer’s Intern for this summer. I grew up in Rexburg, Idaho and cherish this area that I call home. I am currently a junior at Boise State University, studying biology with an emphasis in ecology and evolution. I love the outdoors and enjoy hiking, backpacking, and skiing in my free time. I am looking to get into fly fishing and enjoy the beautiful Henry’s Fork as well. This summer I will be working with my mentor, Matt Hively, on repairing riparian fencing along Harriman and maintaining the Chester fish ladder. I’m looking forward to an educational, rewarding summer, and I’m excited to make a difference in my area while gaining experience for a future career in conservation.

I grew up in Northern Maine, so I love hiking, fishing, and just being outside in nature! I also love to thrift, craft, and sew in my free time. This summer, I will be working as the South Fork Initiative Intern, focusing on community engagement and helping with Morning Bites to help protect and preserve the South Fork’s natural resources!

In Idaho, Madelyn will be doing limnology field work on the Henry’s Fork (and exploring it with their paddle board).
